Loch Garten & RSPB Osprey Centre

Take time during your visit to the Boat Hotel to visit the beautiful Loch Garten and the ancient Caledonian pine forest that’s home to Scotland’s resurgent osprey population. The Loch Garten Osprey Centre is just over a mile from the hotel and provides fantastic views of these magnificent birds on the nest, as well as close up views through non-invasive CCTV camera.

The reserve is home to some excellent walks, with the chance to see red squirrels, dragonflies and crested tits. Early in spring, visitors may be lucky enough to see the spectacular display of the capercaillie, Scotland’s largest grouse.
