THE HIGHLAND WILDLIFE PARK

LANDMARK ADVENTURE PARK

You are guaranteed an action-packed day if visiting the Landmark Adventure Park. This visitor attraction is located in Carrbridge, just North of Aviemore. Whatever your age, there are thrills to be had! Try the famous wild water coaster – alternatively admire the forest in which the park is based from the specially constructed tree-top trail.

STRATHSPEY STEAM RAILWAY

Enjoy a train journey with a difference and transport yourself back in time on board The Strathspey Steam Railway. From Aviemore you can travel to Boat of Garten and Broomhill using transport from yesteryear. Increase the nostalgia levels by enjoying lunch on The Strathspey Clansmen. Alternatively, order Dinner on The Strathspey Highlander. If that is too much, climb aboard and enjoy afternoon tea instead.

SCOTTISH WHISKY DISTILLERIES

A trip to the highlands is hardly complete without getting on the whisky trail and sampling some fine Scotch whisky. When staying in Aviemore why not take a trip to nearby Speyside Distillery Company in Kingusssie or the Tomatin Distillery, located in the Monadhliath Mountains just south of Inverness. Connoisseurs can enjoy guided tours and of course a wee dram (or two!).

LOCH GARTEN & RSPB OSPREY

Visit the beautiful Loch Garten and the ancient Caledonian pine forest that’s home to Scotland’s resurgent osprey population. The Loch Garten Osprey Centre is just over a mile from the hotel and provides fantastic views of these magnificent birds on the nest, as well as close up views through non-invasive CCTV camera.

CAIRNGORM REINDEER CENTRE

Be sure to make time during your stay at the Boat Hotel to visit the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre. LOCH AN EILEIN

Winner of best UK picnic site, the haunting Loch an Eilein is situated on the Rothiemurchus Estate, not far from the Boat Hotel and around three miles south of Aviemore. Meaning 'Loch of the Island’, Loch an Eilein is just one of a series of beautiful lochs in the area, and is renowned as a former hideaway of Rob Roy MacGregor and other hordes of cattle rustlers in the 18th and 19th centuries.
